300,000 miles old!

For the past 5 years you’ve seen
The Melismatics touring around the nation in this beautiful red beast, and we
are excited to celebrate hitting the 300,000 mile mark this upcoming week on our
East Coast tour. While this is very exhilarating, it is also petrifying as we
realize old “Jean Claude” is headed for troubled times in her old age. This is
why we have created The Melismatics Van Donation Fund. If you’d like to rest
assured knowing The Melismatics will make it to your city, please contribute!
Any amount is appreciated. This fund will go towards the purchase of a new van
and potential repair expenses of Jean Claude while she’s still with us.

Hello, hello, hello. This is our first official newsletter since July, and we just hate to leave you all in the dark for so long. We have been up to all kinds of shenanigans, and we’ll finally get you up to speed.
The big news is that we have recently signed with Pravda Records, the legendary indie-rock label from Chicago that has released albums by The Young Fresh Fellows, Andre Williams, Glenn Mercer, and many others over the past 25 years. The Melismatics’ new album “MANIA!” will be released world-wide January 10th, 2012. Mark your calendars, and please show your support for the band by purchasing “MANIA!” when it drops. More details below.
Again, we thank all of our Kickstarter contributors, and your final orders will be fulfilled ASAP. Your patience is much appreciated! We are getting ready to embark on an East Coast Tour that includes 2 CMJ shows in New York–one at Spike Hill in Brooklyn Wednesday, October 19th 2:00PM and the other at Rebel in Manhattan Thursday, October 20th (Set time TBA) with our friends BNLX.
Check out the rest of our tour dates below, and see if we are coming your city. Warn your friends of the mayhem that is sure to ensue if you see we are playing their hoods. In other news, Pony Up has recently been featured on numerous episodes of Oxygen Network’s “Bad Girl’s Club,” “The Real World,” “The Real L Word,” and many others.
While you are patiently waiting for the release of “MANIA!,” tide yourself over with the single “Never Show You Fear” by The Remmismatics (The Melismatics teamed up with Irish indie-rockers Remma).

The Melismatics “MANIA!” to be released world-wide
January 10th, 2012 on Pravda Records!

At long last, our upcoming album, “MANIA!” will be seeing the light of day– January 10th 2012. We will be celebrating the album’s entrance into the ether with Official Release Parties around the USA. Check our web sites as they are added to a venue near you.
We are very excited about this new album and all of the new musical territory it covers. You’ve come to expect the unexpected with The Melismatics, and this will be no exception. It was a
pleasure to work with such a fine group of people making this record including Jon Auer, Ed Ackerson, John Fields, Peter Anderson, Drew Lerdal, Chris Athens, Dan Wilson and many others.
The greatest way to show your support for a hard-working band you like in this day in age is to actually buy their music. It helps us continue to do what we do better, smarter, faster, and more/less
dangerously. If you are a fan, buy a copy. If you are a super-fan, buy several and give them to your friends. If you are a multimillionaire-super -fan, buy them by the box! I think you get the idea.

The Melismatics recently returned from an East Coast Tour, and we’ll give you the skinny here. First of all, we had the pleasure of touring with the Irish band
