Hello fine people of the world, and welcome to the February edition of The Melismatics Official Newsletter (not be confused with lame imitation newsletters).  Our new album MANIA! has just turned one month old, and we are here to get you up to speed on what’s happened since its release.

The conclusions for persuasive essays MANIA! Tour has been going splendidly and continues all year, so check out our tour dates below to see if we are coming to a venue near you.  We are particularly looking forward to playing our hometown of Minneapolis, MN (which we rarely get to do these days) for the MANIA! Release Party at The Ritz Theater Friday, February 24th. We have an absolutely stellar line up with Sick of Sarah, Jon Auer (of The Posies and Big Star who produced MANIA! with Ed Ackerson) and the Twin Cities hottest DJ, Transmission’s Jake Rudh.  Get your tickets for The Ritz Theater here. We highly recommend getting advance tickets for this event.

MANIA! debuted in the CMJ Top 20 Adds the week of it’s release at #11.  It has since been climbing the CMJ Top 200 (it just jumped up 30 chart positions this week!).  It’s also been getting lots of spins on specialty commercial radio making numerous charts.

The new video for the single “Divided Devotions” is here, and you can watch it below!  In this video our pet snake, who is lovingly named “Snake” makes his on-screen debut.

In other news, one of Ryan’s side projects, Coalition had a song, “Get Steady” featured on MTV’s “Battle of the Exes.”  Watch the episode here.

As usual, we’ve got a lot on the horizon; we begin tracking a new album later this month.  In March we will be playing at the world’s largest music event, SXSW in Austin, TX (3-15-12 @ Lambert’s 10:00PM and Green Room Day Party 3-16-12 @ Dirty Dog Noon).  The XMonroes  (collaboration between Tony Ortiz of The Monroes and The Melismatics) debut single will be out soon as well.

“Divided Devotions” Video Out Now!
We are pleased to announce the release of our music video for the single “Divided Devotions.”  We’d like to thank Randy cover of research paper Smith who directed and shot the video and Lisa Smith who contributed her mad camera skills.

Jon Auer, who produced the track makes a special guest appearance in the video.  Watch for him in a tunnel of snakes surrounded by Pony clones.
