Welcome, comrades to yet another edition of The Melismatics Official Newsletter. In this issue we’ll tell you all about our recent East Coast Tour, the word premier of “Removal” (film that features The Melismatics track “Hate To Say It”), Pony Up being featured on “Gossip Girl,” and much more!
As we approach the Holiday Season, there are some special shows that we are particularly looking forward to. Pony and Ryan will be performing in the annual Replacements tribute at the legendary First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN November 26th; this year they will be playing the album “Tim” note-for-note from start to finish. Also, The Melismatics will perform at The Fine Line New Years Eve with Tina and the B-Sides (Ron from The Melismatics will also be drumming with his old band the B-Sides!). Get your tickets in advance for this one as it is highly likely to sell out quickly.
The Melismatics’ new album is almost complete, and college application essay prompts texas we’re gearing up for the release of the next single/video, “Puzzle Missing Pieces” which features a vocal and guitar appearance by Jon Auer of The Posies and Big Star. Speaking of Jon, we just got back from seeing and hanging out with The Posies with Brendan Benson (Raconteurs) as they threw down in superb fashion in Chicago.
Stay tuned for the addition of West Coast tour dates slated for January 2011, the first Melismatics Podcast, new youtube video releases, and more!
Sincerely,
Ryan, Pony, Mark, Ron

Melismatics East Coast Tour |
The Melismatics recently returned from an East Coast Tour, and we’ll give you the skinny here. First of all, we had the pleasure of touring with the Irish band Remma, who were championed by Morrisey and signed to his Attack Records label back in 2004. If you haven’t heard of them before, be sure and check them out! We got along famously with these fine gents and look forward to playing future tours with them. We also had a great time playing with fellow-Minnesotan and former-Husker Du legend Grant Hart and Brooklyn indie-rockers Robbers on High Street in Philadelphia. Other tour highlights include playing in Marquette, MI (picture above is from one of our two Marquette shows that kicked off our tour), playing in Manhattan at Fontana’s, playing in Brooklyn at Spike Hill, and Ryan swallowing an entire toothpick after falling off of a loading dock in Madison, WI. We had a great time in each and every city we played, so thanks to everyone who came out to the shows!
