Beloved friends of The Melismatics, hello and cheers! Planet Melismatics has been a very busy place since our last newsletter. We’ve recently returned from our most triumphant tour of Ireland, and we’ve got a brand-new single “Never Show Your Fear” under the moniker The Remmismatics (The Melismatics and Remma all rolled into one) to show for it. World-renowned mastering engineer Chris Athens at Sterling Sound in NYC has officially signed on to master our upcoming album, “MANIA!” He’s already been hard at work adding his magic touch, and we are elated with the results! Ryan and Pony’s new electronica/no-wave group DRA (Demon Rat Attack) have done a gotholicous remix of The Melismatics’ song “Divided Devotions” which will be available as a bonus track on “MANIA!” DRA has some exciting new projects coming up, and you can count on us keeping you in the loop.

In addition to the new album “MANIA!” seeing its completion and release this fall, we will be celebrating the 10-year anniversary of our first album “Postmodern Rock” with a remastered re-issue that contains previously unreleased tracks. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 10 years since we began recording the LP that started it all for cheap custom The Melismatics in our former guitarist Jeremy Ylvisaker’s (now guitarist for Andrew Bird and Alpha Consumer) mom’s basement! This album has been out of print for several years now, and it’s re-release will contain never-heard-before rarities.

There are many upcoming shows we are very excited about, so check out our tour dates and warn your friends of the impending danger in these cities! Once again, will be playing the largest music event in the world, Summerfest in Milwaukee 7-7-11 at 7:30PM on the Cascio Stage. Check out dates for our July West Coast tour and stay tuned as our East Coast tour dates are announced for October.
